Following the Hebrew prayer Shema from yesterday, here’s a great proverb, connecting with some of the words of the Shema.
The Shema said:
8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
The proverb says:
3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
This proverb is taking what was said in the Shema and bringing out a different flavour in a new way.
This is one of the scriptures that has been a big part of my life, a prayer that I’ve prayed and thought I’ve continually come back to. To trust God with ALL OF MY HEART.
Let it be your prayer today.
3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
