Go Beyond Creative Pursuits

As a church community, we want to be shaped by the trellis practices of hospitality and humbly serving others through our gifts. This Spring, one of the things we’re focusing on is how to do this in creative, Spirit-led ways.

We’re beholding Christ and being attentive to his new creation work of mending, restoring and making all things new.

As we look for practical ways to live this out, one idea we’re exploring is hosting some guided creative play sessions together as a church. We would invite members of the community into our space and introduce them to a particular technique or skill. We are hopeful that during these sessions people wouldn’t just learn and make something new, but become curious about the gospel.

This would be a longer-term creative initiative of our Beyond program, aiming to provide a more relaxed and grace-filled space than a traditional workshop. The focus would be on hospitality and building relationships rather than being experts or creating a perfect object at the end. We want to be led, always, by God’s grace and goodness.

We’re looking to build a team of people who are curious and/or passionate about this idea and want to be involved. If this sounds like you, please respond Yes to question 9!

Whether or not you’re keen to be part of this particular team, we want your valuable input into what these sessions could look like. Let us know what you think by answering the questions in this survey. Thank you! 🙂

Creative Workshop Survey

An exploration of what gospel-focused outreach workshops for creative play could look like in our local community.

3. Would you be interested in attending any of these guided creative play sessions / relaxed workshops?
5. Would you be interested in facilitating one of these guided creative play sessions / relaxed workshops?
e.g. Mon-Fri morning / Mon-Fri afternoon / Mon-Fri evening, Sat morning / Sat afternoon / Sat evening
9. Would you be interested in being part of a team to brainstorm, plan, organise and run these sessions?
At this point, we envision we will need people in a few different types of roles – e.g. helping with registrations, helping with setup / pack down, facilitating sessions, welcoming people etc.
If yes, what types of roles would you be interested in helping with?
Thanks so much for filling out this survey!
